Stockholm producer Kornél Kovács and one third DJ trio/label Studio Barnhaus — who has a slew of well received releases on U.K. labels such as Smallville and Numbers is the new wave of Swedish producers cultivating “off-centre dance music…straddling the line between the cute and the menacing.” Today, it has been announced Kornél Kovács will drop his debut LP The Bells, set to be released in August on his own Studio Barnhaus imprint. Of the project, a press release says “On The Bells, Kovács pops open his trunk full of sounds nicked from the lost and found bins of nightclubs all over the world.” Label boss Axel Bowman continues “Kornél’s bells will echo far beyond the nervous and trend sensitive ”dance” genre that our label sometimes is associated with, and into pop history.” Listen to the winding, funky groove “BB” below:
