June 21, 2018 Still Corners announce new album ‘Slow Air’; share video for “Black Lagoon”
Tessa Murray + Greg Hughes bka Still Corners return with a pulsing and glimmering first single from the band’s forthcoming new record Slow Air, out this summer on their own label Wrecking Light Records. Watch the stunning, self-directed accompanying video for “Blue Lagoon” below, of which they say:
“finds the band on a journey from the desert to the ocean in search of a lost Eden. Filmed over a month in California, Arizona and Texas and shot on a small handheld cinema camera, the band travels across America in a white mustang convertible searching and reaching into the unknown.”
Slow Air is out August 17th.

June 13, 2018 Laurel Halo announces new record ‘Raw Silk Uncut Wood’; listen to calming title track
Laurel Halo follows up last year’s adventurous masterpiece Moontalk with the dilating and calming title track from her record, out July 13th on Paris label Latency. Raw Uncut Silk Wood is constructed of “six instrumental pieces featuring cello work by Oliver Coates and percussion by Eli Keszler”; Laurel says on FB: “Something expansive, meditative, lowkey, elsewhere“.
“What works reliably is to know the raw silk, hold the uncut wood. Need little. Want less. Forget the rules. Be untroubled.” Listen below:
