The incomparable Jessy Lanza returns with her first solo single in four years, out today via Hyperdub. “Lick In Heaven” is a darkly sweet, infectious dance-pop jam crafted with JL’s signature bounce and an effervescent melody carefully obscuring the provocative lyrics, which she says are “about being angry with people and not knowing what to do about it.” The charming Winston H Case-directed video finds Jessy as guest on the fictional cable TV show “Good Morning Ontario” performing in front of an audience who lose themselves in the music.
