Young Minnesota singer/producer Kate Morley aka Morly is our beloved label Cascine‘s latest signing. Her new EP In Defense of My Muse is comprised of what the label calls “lo-fi explorations into the transient space between joy and melancholy“, and on the EP’s introductory salvo, the dazzling, emotional “And Sooner Than We Know It…” what begins as a lonely, wistful piano staunchly unites a softly stirring beat with beaming synths and gorgeous hymning choral swells that immediately conjure up glorious moments/feelings of seasons changing, new beginnings — rejuvenation, renewal and re-birth.
