July 15, 2015 video: Pixx – Fall In

Young London songwriter Hannah Rodgers better known as Pixx (formally Pix) released one of our favorite singles of 2014 in the form of the Dreamtrak produced, Cocteau Twins indebted “A Way To Say Goodbye“. Fresh off signing to new label, the quite naturally fitting 4AD, she returns with the haunting title track from her debut EP — described by the label as “a collection of four electronic-folk infused torch songs” and a seemingly perfect introduction into this exciting newcomer’s strange and mysterious world. Watch Pixx submerge in the beautifully gloomy clip for “Fall In” directed by The Marshall Darlings below and grab the EP upon release August 28.

The title track from Lana Del Rey‘s forthcoming new full length, supposedly out sometime in September on Polydor.
July 14, 2015 Morly – And Sooner Than We Know It…
Young Minnesota singer/producer Kate Morley aka Morly is our beloved label Cascine‘s latest signing. Her new EP In Defense of My Muse is comprised of what the label calls “lo-fi explorations into the transient space between joy and melancholy“, and on the EP’s introductory salvo, the dazzling, emotional “And Sooner Than We Know It…” what begins as a lonely, wistful piano staunchly unites a softly stirring beat with beaming synths and gorgeous hymning choral swells that immediately conjure up glorious moments/feelings of seasons changing, new beginnings — rejuvenation, renewal and re-birth. Stoked to hear the rest of In Defense of My Muse, out August 14 on Cascine.
